On February 25th, 2016, hours of behind the scenes work will come to fruition when the group previously known as the Friends of the Edmonton Public Library (FEPL) launch what will now be known to Edmontonians as Anthology.
Anthology. It has a nice ring to it, right? It conjures up images of elegant leather-bound tomes, stacked on a shelf ready to enjoy curled up in a chair. Before you get too comfortable, Anthology is not your typical literary experience or book club for that matter.
We are a literary club for the culturally curious, hosting exclusive events for Edmontonians under 45. At Anthology, we believe a passion for literature is central to a healthy, vibrant, engaged city — and that a strong urban public library system can be its foundation.
Our premiere event could not be more exciting- cocktails and an exclusive pre-keynote reception with celebrated author Salman Rushdie. The launch event is free, but with the purchase of a membership ($300 for a single or $500 for a fully transferable dual membership), Anthology members will be invited to join the author's keynote talk with special reserved seating (tickets are valued at $149, almost half the cost of your full membership!). Sign up by February 20th as seating is limited for the keynote.
Another perk of signing up early is as one of the first 45 members of Anthology, you’ll have the limited opportunity to become one of our Founding 45 members, a unique group of literary ambassadors who will receive special mention on our website, early bird access to events, and other benefits.
